Why
don't men lead at Sunday school?
This
is a question I've heard at Sunday school meetings every time we talk about
looking for more leaders.
The
conversation then heads in the direction of coming up with a plan to try and convince
men that it’s not going to be a
big commitment.
I
would like to suggest this is the problem.
For
many men the reason they like their job is because they have to work hard, it
stretches them and engages them.
Men
are competitive, they want to be challenged.
I
think trying to convince men that Sunday school and children's ministry is easy
and takes no effort actually drives men away.
Colossians
3:23 remind us Whatever you do, work at
it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,
Whatever
we are involved in, Sunday school, youth group, one to one ministry we are to
work at it with all our heart.
