What would be the number one
attribute you look for in a leader?
There is always a temptation to put gifting first.
We slide into practicalities, we want someone who is going to get the
job done.
Someone we don't have to put too much time and energy into.
We think someone with the right gifts will make our ministry grow and
attract people.
It seems that the Bible
puts more emphasis on character.
When it comes to choosing
a king God doesn't look at the things we look at.
“But the LORD said to
Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance of his height, for I have rejected him.
The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward
appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
In the lists from 1 Timothy 3:2-7
and Titus, the only time it mentions ability based requirements, that of
teaching is in Titus 1:9; 1 Tim 3:2, all other qualifications are character qualities.
Would you choose Jesus as a
leader? Philippians 2:5-11

I agree, as leaders most of our plans and schemes only work because God is gracious.
G'day Luke
I'm glad you agree.
Thanks for reading and posting
